Hi I'm Andrew Khoury, but most people call me Drew 👋

:left I'm a Strategic Principal at Liatrio, and an advocate for all things lean, cloud, and automation. I help teams improve their feedback loops, build the right things (not just build things fast), and help teams make data-driven decisions. I believe that people and culture are critical for transformational change.

With a foundation in software development and over a decade of experience consulting to enterprises, my passion for helping people, understanding computers, and problem-solving has made me a sought-after trusted advisor and thought leader.

I've helped companies transform the way they work and have created lasting changes by identifying and nurturing change agents that help build a sense of purpose and community within organizations. My experience allows me to provide strategic advice that spans cloud landing zones, security and governance, and best practices for developers and product teams.

My motto: Automate All The Thingsâ„¢

If you'd like me to speak at your meetup or conference, please reach out. You can get in touch with me on LinkedIn, slack, or schedule time with me for any other reason.

Chief Drew Officer (CDO)

My career has included roles in support, dev, SEO, cloud, automation, and leadership.

  • 2018 - Consulting - Technical Principal - Leading teams of up to 10 in delivery (as well as a manager within my organization)
  • 2013 - Consulting - Individual Contributor (Cloud, DevOps, Transformation)
  • 2012 - Independent contractor - Dev
  • 2009 - Web Dev & SEO
  • 2007 - Startup founder
  • 2005 - Support

Instead of updating a resume every few years, I keep my LinkedIn Profile up to date with my roles and accomplishments. In addition to my key responsibilities and achievements over the years, I've put effort into understanding how I can best combine my passion, mission, vocation, and profession:

The key elements where I shine (in addition to my technical background) tend to be:

  • People
    • Being a mentor/manager to junior engineers
    • Teaching people new skills (docker, k8s, 3 musketeers)
  • Teams
    • Motivating individuals toward a common goal
    • Leading and helping develop high-performing teams
  • Delivery / Improvement
    • Improving documentation
    • Automating manual processes
    • Flow optimization - for teams & organizations
    • Improving people and team onboarding
  • Marketing
    • Building brands, content, and service offerings
    • Thought leadership (blogs, whitepapers, meetups, conferences, podcasts, demos, and example code)
    • Pre-sales & pairing with sales/marketing teams on more compelling offerings

Recently I've gravitated towards opportunities that allow me to have a larger sphere of influence, similar to developer advocate roles & efforts that span multiple teams or have a much more significant impact on organizations.

About Me

More about me: I was exposed to computers from a young age. In fact I'd pull apart anything remotely electronic as a young child just to see how it worked. Luckily the Cloud has meant I can break things online now, and it's less messy that way. My enthusiasm for Software Development, Networking & Security as well as Automating All The Thingsâ„¢ allows me to offer a unique perspective to business problems and problem-solving in general.

Some of the tech I've worked with over the years: {'Docker', 'Kubernetes', 'AWS', 'Google App Engine', 'Ansible', 'Terraform', 'Python', 'Nginx', 'MySQL', 'PHP', 'Bash'}
